Kim & Iain – Catch a Glimpse

We were very excited when we heard all about Kim & Iain’s plans for their big day… With the combination of their warm and hilarious personalities, quirky ideas and hosting their wedding at one of our favourite venues – we just couldn’t wait for the big day to arrive!

The morning started with us joining both Kim & Iain as they got ready at the same hotel near the venue. Both rooms were wonderfully relaxed – it’s possible the champagne and Whiskey played a small part in this..! Kim, her Bridesmaids and Mother all shared stories as they prepped for the big day… there was LOTS of laughter. Kim’s Father looked immensely proud when he came to collect her for the ceremony. Seeing his daughter in her dress for the first time – Kim looked stunning. The Bridal party made the short journey to ‘Shustoke Barn’ in an incredibly cool VW Camper decorated with its very own Wedding bunting! Shustoke Barn quite simply is one of the most gorgeous Wedding venues. Set around a courtyard containing giant Olive trees and acres of glorious grounds to explore outside – you truly are spoilt for choice when it comes to photos!

As guests arrived, two colleagues from the Fire Service in full ceremonial dress proudly provided a guard of honour outside the venue. Friends and family were wowed as they entered the 18th Century barn gorgeously decorated with flowers and lights. Iain and his groomsmen looked incredibly dapper in their vintage, tweed three piece suits with floral themes perfectly complimenting the colour scheme for the day. Iain stood patiently with his Father (who was also his best man!) waiting for Kim to arrive. Before we knew it, the moment had arrived and Iain couldn’t resist having a look over his shoulder. The moment he laid eyes on Kim was incredible – these two share the deepest love and it was a privilege being there to capture that special moment! The ceremony was full of smiles, with parents performing readings and the two fire officers holding their axes above the newly weds as they kissed… I think Iain became a little nervous at this point!

“I’m lucky I’m in love with my best friend”

Guests cheered as the new Mr & Mrs Murray exited the barn and into the courtyard, where they were covered in confetti before everyone enjoyed mingling during the drinks reception. There were tasty canapés, garden games, giant space-hoppers and even an acoustic duo to keep everyone entertained! The venue was full of incredible personal touches, including a photo booth Iain constructed himself! From the wooden signs, photo display boards and gifts for their loved ones – this lovely couple had carefully considered every little detail to make this big day perfect. When it came to the meal, each table had a nominated ‘carver’ with their very own personalised apron! It took some persuasion for some of them to finally take it off!

The celebrations continued into the evening, where a live band performed Kim & Iain’s first dance before the party truly got going and some serious shapes were thrown! There were sparklers, marshmallow toasting and even some late night space-hopping!

Kim & Iain you two are truly amazing – we loved being part of your incredible Wedding!

Enjoy this? Check out Hannah & Nathan’s big day!
