Eliza & Tom

Where do we start?! This gorgeous autumn, military wedding had it all – incredible uniforms, a Welsh choir, guards of honour and the loveliest of couples. It truly made for the most perfect big day! Eliza & Tom, who are both serving in the military wanted to proudly represent their professions at the wedding but ensuring that it was relaxed with huge amounts of fun… and they absolutely nailed it!

Eliza and the bridal party got prepped at a nearby hotel. Her five lovely bridesmaids were absolutely speechless when they saw Eliza in her dress. Choosing the most stunning dress with wonderful detail, combined with red shoes and pearl details – this bride truly looked breathtaking. Eliza’s father couldn’t hold back the tears when he walked in the room and saw his daughter for the first time. He was super excited to accompany her to the church in a vintage wedding car. With family links to Knowle Parish Church, it was the perfect place for Eliza & Tom to tie the knot. Just before the Bride arrived, guests gathered by the war memorial outside the church, where Tom laid a wreath. A few moments of silence were had by all in remembrance of those heroes who gave their lives for us and to those like Eliza & Tom who bravely protect us all. On this incredibly joyous occasion, it was so important to spend a few precious moments paying respect.

The most wonderful touch was a full Welsh choir performing during the service. Full of passion, they proudly sung as Eliza and her father walked down the aisle towards an eagerly awaiting groom. I don’t think this pair stopped smiling throughout the entire ceremony! It was an absolute joy to capture these moments inside the most beautiful church. After having the all important first kiss, the new Mr & Mrs Lane absolutely beamed as they walked back up the aisle to cheers from their guests. Shortly after, an impressive guard of honour waited outside as guests formed one of the longest confetti tunnels we’ve ever seen!

Guests jumped on coaches and made the short trip to ‘Shustoke Barn’ – a splendid 18th century red-brick barn set around a private courtyard. It’s one of our favourite venues with so many lovely backdrops for great wedding photos. The barn was decorated in-fitting with the days style. Centrepieces for the tables represented those incredibly special places that hold fond memories for the bride and groom. Fabulous little touches such as home-made Welsh cakes and brilliantly personalised cake toppers really rounded things off brilliantly. We were blessed with the most magnificent sunset just before guests took their seats in time for the meal and speeches. Each table nominated a carver for the meat – some performed their roles better than others…!

With hilarious and heartfelt speeches finished, guests could’t wait to get the party started. Shots were downed, high heels came off and a live band got the dance floor filled! The atmosphere was electric! Eliza & Tom, you really did have the most perfect wedding. Congratulations to you both and thanks for letting us be a part of the celebrations!
