Lucy & Ollie
Keeping this blog to a ‘sneak peek’ of Lucy & Ollie’s wedding hasn’t been easy! They had so many incredible parts to their day. Getting married and looking for inspiration? Or simply love stunning weddings – look no further.. this is one you can’t miss!
With the celebrations being held at the incredible ‘Hyde House’, we couldn’t wait to be part of it. This Victorian house and barns in the heart of the Cotswolds really does blow you away! From the moment you pull into the driveway, the mix of old and new takes your breath away.
Lucy and the girls spent the morning upstairs in the dedicated prep suite. In between the giggles and champagne, these gorgeous ladies had their hair and make up completed before slipping into stunning burgundy and pink dresses. Lucy opted for the most delicate off the shoulder wedding dress, with her hair up, complimented with classic, gold necklace and earrings. There was some serious jealousy when the girls saw Lucy’s glittery ‘Jimmy Choo’ wedding shoes!
Ollie and the lads looked the part in their grey, three piece tweed suits, finished off with burgundy ties and pocket squares. Lucy’s father collected her for the short journey over to ‘St Mary’s Church’ where Ollie’s groomsmen had been completing their ushering duties and greeting guests. As the organ began to play, guests stood and Ollie’s best man gave him a nudge as Lucy arrived at the top of the aisle. They both locked eyes and couldn’t stop smiling – what a moment! The ceremony in this pretty little church was just perfect and it was topped off with Ollie’s incredibly talented sister performing live!
Guests covered (literally!) the newlyweds in confetti outside the church and couldn’t wait to join in the celebrations back at ‘Hyde House’. We even managed to pop over the road to Lower Slaughter with the new Mr & Mrs Plunkett where the quaint buildings feature the infamous Cotswold stone.
Once back at Hyde House, the partying got well under way, with more live music during the drinks reception overlooking the gorgeous rolling hills. We explored the venue’s incredible spots for photos, including the contemporary barn, old Victorian country house and impressive arbour in the garden. You really are spoilt for choice here!
Onto the wedding breakfast – now what you’d usually expect is some posh food followed by speeches.. but Lucy had other plans! Just as their pudding was being served, to everyones horror one of the waiters took a tumble, spilling the cutlery. As guests rushed to his aid, he whipped out a microphone and surprised everyone by belting out a song! Before we knew it, everyone was on their feet (and their chairs!) dancing and singing along to some of the best entertainment we’ve ever seen! Bridesmaids did the worm, Ollie nailed a backflip and there was even a dance off between the girls and the lads – I almost lost my voice singing along! Three incredible speeches followed, setting everyone up for the most perfect evening of celebrating! We even managed to grab the last of the late summer sun outside in the garden before it was time for Lucy & Ollie to hit the dance floor. With a live band, including a saxophonist, the room was shaking late into the night!
What a wedding guys! Here’s to a married life just like your wedding – full of fun, loads of surprises and pure love for one another.
