Serena & Ian
Serena & Ian’s big day was extra special for so many reasons. Knowing them for many years and having previously shot weddings of their friends and family – I truly felt like one of their guests and it was an absolute joy capturing their wedding day and seeing so many familiar faces. It was wonderful being back at ‘Brookfield Barn’ too – the team there are so good at what they do and simply know how to put on an incredible event! This contemporary, lakeside barn with gorgeous views of neighbouring countryside is the perfect place to tie the knot.
Finishing off her hair and make up and stepping into her dress in the dedicated ‘prep’ room at the venue, Serena looked absolutely stunning and her proud Dad simply couldn’t hold back the tears seeing her for the first time. Noah, the page boy certainly stole a few hearts. He even had his very own wooden sign and did the most incredible job at announcing the arrival of the bride.
The barn itself looked exquisite with white drapes and fairy lights complementing the exposed oak beams. Ian and the guests were left speechless when the time came for Serena to walk down the aisle. Their ceremony was full of smiles as some of their nearest and dearest performed readings and after that all important first kiss, Serena & Ian found themselves walking back up the aisle as Mr & Mrs Whitfield!
Guests were able to bring out their inner diva, with a quirky ‘Marryeoke’ videographer present all day, with ‘Build me up buttercup’ being belted out and some pretty awesome dance moves to go with it! When it was time for their photos, we had such a giggle with the bridesmaids and ushers! Then, as everyone else mingled and enjoyed the views from the terrace, we explored the beautifully maintained grounds with Serena & Ian, narrowly avoiding some pretty heavy showers! They were an absolute joy to photograph!
The barn once again looked amazing during the wedding breakfast. With the most magnificent touches like hand folded, personalised books and a dazzling 4 tiered cake – it provided the most fantastic backdrop during the meal. Talking of the meal… wow! Each table had a nominated ‘carver’ who donned a chef’s hat and apron and had the responsibly of serving up guests food! All of the speeches had guests in hysterics and at times shedding a tear. They were beautifully performed and a real pleasure to witness. As the celebrations then continued into the evening, the Bride’s Mum hosted a ‘Mr & Mrs’ game for the Bride & Groom – this built the energy up brilliantly having guests crying with laughter.
As the sun was setting outside, Serena & Ian took to the dance floor and wowed guests with a beautiful, pre-rehearsed routine – watch out for them on ‘Strictly’ next year!! The DJ then played some absolute belters as guests showed off their very best moves and partied late into the night!
Serena & Ian – your day was truly what weddings should be about… laughter, love and lots of partying! Here’s to a married life full of smiles!
