Lucy & George – Catch a Glimpse
Lucy & George’s Wedding was held at ‘Billesley Manor’. This venue is set in the heart of Warwickshire and its location provides a wonderful opportunity to explore nearby Stratford Upon Avon. The Manor House contains a fantastic array of original features including Tudor Wall Panelling. Its beautiful staircases, grand open fires and stunning, exposed oak beams make it the perfect location for a cosy, autumnal Wedding. The gardens are perfectly landscaped. Lucy & George’s big day has to be one of the wettest we’ve ever shot. But this certainly didn’t stop anyone from having lots of fun!
As we arrived, we were able to pop over to George and his groomsmen as they made their finishing touches. Looking incredibly dapper in their Morning Suits, these gents shared their last minute marriage advice with George. They even had time to pop open a bottle of Champagne! Having his two brothers as his ‘Best Men’, George was twice as nervous for their speeches later in the day!
The girls were at the other end of the Manor in the Bridal suite, getting themselves ready for the day ahead. Lucy and her Bridesmaids didn’t miss out on the bubbles as they enjoyed a glass (or two!) as they had their hair and make-up completed. Lucy chose an incredibly elegant dress with lace arms and beautiful detail. With classic, pearl earrings and a gorgeous veil, she made a stunning Bride. Her father looked immensely proud when he saw her for the first time.
The bridal party made the journey over to the Church in two classic Wedding cars and with the help of a handful of umbrellas, they made it safely inside just on time! As the organist began playing, George couldn’t resist a little look over his shoulder as Lucy walked down the aisle. He held back the tears as he was wowed with just how incredible she looked.
“You have a place in my heart noone could ever have”
With hymns sung and loved ones performing readings, the ceremony was full of warmth. It was an absolute pleasure being able to capture those little smiles between this lovely pair. Their love for one another is abundantly clear. Before we knew it, Lucy & George had tied the knot and were walking back down the aisle as Husband & Wife! Guests braved the rain and cheered the new Mr & Mrs Downing, showering them in confetti as they left the church. Lucy’s mum had also arranged a secret Dove release – what a cool surprise!
After the short journey back to Billesley Manor, a string trio entertained guests during the drinks reception as open fires roared and kept everyone toasty! The venue had been beautifully dressed ready for the Wedding breakfast. There was a flower wall, miniature personalised gin favours and an impressive FIVE tiered cake! Following a delicious three course meal came the speeches and they didn’t fail to impress! George’s brothers did a fantastic job at embarrassing the Groom!
We were able to take advantage of the weather, embracing the rain and creating some spectacular night shots just before leaving.
Lucy & George, thanks for letting us share your special day! Here’s to a married life full of happiness!
