burgh island wedding photography

Tina & Ian

We first met Ian & Tina at a Wedding Fayre in Warwickshire, not far from their home. We immediately clicked and fell in love with their warm personalities, great sense of humour and clear love for one another! They were so passionate about their plans for their big day and couldn’t wait to tell us about their venue.. It was certainly hard to contain our excitement when they told us! ‘Burgh Island’ is a 1930’s Grade II Listed Art Deco retreat. It is a 26 Acre private island in South Devon – the MOST romantic venue for a Wedding! The Island contains a stunning hotel, a Mermaid Pool for natural sea water swimming and a Beach House where Agatha Christie wrote 2 of her books!

As if this wasn’t unique enough, when the tide is in, guests are transported on and off the Island by Sea Tractor! Not many couples can say they married on their own private island, surrounded by the ocean and stunning views!

“I love her and that’s the beginning & end of everything.”

The adventure began on the island with us joining Tina, her Maid of honour & three Bridesmaids as they got ready in the Bridal Suite. With champagne flowing, the atmosphere was so relaxed and they even requested a ‘selfie’ with Chris! Tina opted for elegant lily bouquets for the Bridal Party. This, combined with glamorous dresses – these ladies looked a million dollars!

This lovely couple said their vows surrounded by their closest friends & family before a drinks reception, canapés and entertainment from the amazing Champagne Charlie & the Bubbly Boys. Anyone stood looking into this Wedding would have felt they were watching a 1920’s love story!

The evening continued with a sumptuous three course meal, more bubbles and a photo underneath a glass dome ceiling. The newly weds then took to the dance floor in the ball room for their first dance. Champagne Charlie and his band provided perfect live music for this!

Everything about this day was so sophisticated and glamorous – no words can describe just how stunning this wedding was. A huge thank you, Mr & Mrs Cooper, for allowing us to be a part of your big day and for being so lovely! Here’s to an incredible married life together!
