From the moment Fiona and Gavin first described their wedding to us, we knew it was going to be extraordinary! You can’t get much cooler than a ceremony in an old Brighton picture house! We were certainly filled with inspiration and fun ideas for this exciting day right from the beginning!
On the morning of the wedding, we headed to the coast and joined Fiona alongside her bridal party in a stunning and quirky terraced house. Champagne corks were popped and old stories were told (there was even time for some Pokemon Hunting for a certain someone!). Before long, we were heading over to the ‘Duke of York Picture House’ where the days main events were taking place. The cinema itself opened in 1910 making it one of Britain’s oldest picture houses. This iconic building is a short walk from Brighton’s town centre and can’t be missed with the ‘kicking legs’ proudly sitting on its roof! When you enter this fabulous building, it feels as though you have stepped back in time which suited Fiona and Gavin’s wedding ever so beautifully – a truly classic & romantic affair! For us, this was a brilliant wedding venue, and the photos sure do speak a thousand words.
As Fiona joined Gavin centre stage in the cinema, the room was filled with emotion – it was as though their family & friends were sat watching a classic love story unfold! The guests were spoilt with a personalised movie of Fiona & Gavin’s relationship whilst nibbling on popcorn and sipping Prosecco before Fiona and Gavin finally became Mr and Mrs!
We were able to join the newly-weds as they headed back stage to the impressive projector rooms – a real privilege to be able to capture the first moments Fiona and Gavin had together as husband and wife in such cool surroundings!
Gavin, Fiona and their guests were then picked up by a classic red double decker bus and driven on a whistle stop tour to their chosen reception venue – the stunning ‘Al Duomo’ restaurant in the world famous lanes of Brighton. During the evening, we managed to squeeze in a trip down to the seafront just before dessert was served. The locals were in awe watching Gavin and his beautiful Bride strolling Brighton’s streets! Once we captured some special photos alongside the pier, we skipped back to the restaurant where Mr & Mrs Clark shared the first dance surrounding by their guests – a really special moment!
This gorgeous day was a truly wonderful experience for us – one that we will never forget! Fiona & Gavin – two kind, warm-hearted individuals who deserve all the happiness in the world. Thank you for choosing us to capture your day, it really was super fun!
